Profile of the cardiovascular risk of the ingressantes in Academy CAP through the indirect test of Elestad
Abstract
Introduction: The regular practice of physical activity has been recommended for the prevention and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases and other chronic diseases by different associations of health in the world, like American College of Sports Medicine, Centers disease Control and Prevention, American Heart Association, National Institutes of Health, US Surgeon General, The Brazilian Society of Cardiology, among others. Objective:Check the level of physical fitness for beginners of physical activity in college, through the measurement of VO2max achieved by the exercise test protocol to Ellestad. Methods: The sample consisted of 40 volunteers, 20 females and 20 males, aged 20 to 48 years, healthy, college freshmen in CAP in the city of Curitiba -PR. Results: Epidemic studies have been demonstrating direct relationship between physical inactivity and the presence of multiples risk factors. However, it has been demonstrated that the regular practice of physical exercise presents beneficial effects in the prevention and treatment of the arterial hypertension, resistance to the insulin, diabetes, dislipidemia and obesity. Completion: thephysical conditioning should be stimulated for all, healthy people and with multiples risk factors, since they are capable to participate in a program of physical training. As well as the clinical therapeutics takes care of maintaining the function of theorgans, the physical activity promotes favorable physiologic adaptations, resulting in improvement of the life quality.
