Abstract

This paper has the purpose to appraise and compare the conduct of glycemic and the subjective of tension in individuals with COPD during test advance of low members. In order to do that, six individuals of both sexes with age above 65 years old, four with COPD and two healthy volunteers with similar ages, perform a continuous and progressive test on ergo meter cycle with initial charge of 50W and increasing of 50W at every 3 minutes till voluntary exhaustion. To determine the glycemic, blood samples were collected from digital pulps on resting and at the end of each phase. The score of breath tension and fatigue of low members was acquired at each phase by scale of modified Borg. The results show that the group with CPOD trained had more tolerance to tension, low glycemic levels and less score of Borg to fatigue and breathlessness, during the increase of charge in the test of endurance compared to the group with CPOD inactive and to the group of control. The score from 6 to 7 in the Borg scale corresponds to the lowers glycemic values. According to what has been discussed above, our results show a possibility of using the glycemic minimum acquired during the tests of endurance of low members with the subjective perception of tension like predictor of intensity of training of low members in individuals with COPD.
