The use of therapeutic exercise in the reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament using open kinetic chain and closed kinetic chain
Abstract
The aim of the study was to conduct a literature review to answer some questions in the literature on what is the Best technique for muscle strengthening inOKC or CKC and its risk to excess tension in the graft ligament and overload the patellofemoral joint for individuals in the process of rehabilitation of ACL reconstruction surgery. Among the structures that make up the knee, the ACL, the more prone to injuries with an incidence of 50% of the cases. Young subjects, male and physically active are more prone to suffer this type of injury because of the main mechanisms that causes it to be deceleration and sudden change of direction of motion of the leg, causing a valgus external rotation. Initially it describes the mechanical functions of the ACL and its anatomy then be shown the main mechanisms of injury caused in the practice of this sport and what sport more prone to such damage. The study concludes that the use of CKC causes less stress to the graft ligament and patellofemoral joint and provides satisfactory results in increased strength and muscle mass, but it determined that further studies are needed to show the benefits of CKC exercises.
