Parameters morphological and functional for individuals beginners of physical exercise in a gym of Porto Velho-RO
Abstract
Introduction: the trend of decreased physical fitness related to health in people over age seems to be more and more common nowadays, learn more about these parameters can help health professionals to determine intervention and prevention in this population. Objective: the objective of this study was to evaluate the morphological and functional variables beginners individuals to exercise in a gym. Methods: this was a descriptive cross-sectional study of ex-post-facto character, with a sample of 120 beginning students exercise programs of a health Porto Velho/RO, between the periods of March and April/2014. The evaluated were divided into age groups: Group (1) = 20 to 29 years old; Group (2) = 30 to 39 years old, and Group (3) = 40 to 50 years of age. We evaluated the morphological and functional parameters of individuals and to highlight the possible differences between groups, we used analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA) with post hoc Bonferroni test, adopting a 0.05% significance level. Results: it was found that with increasing age, men showed an increase in morphological index, these values being found in women become more balanced. In the variables of neuromuscular parameters was found that there was a small decline for both men and women. Conclusion: it can be concluded that both the morphological variables as functional are exacerbated in both sexes with advancing age, however, it was noted that in women the aggravation presents a more timid way.
