Abstract

Introduction: Resistance training (TR) provides improvements in the health and physical performance of its practitioners. Objective: To carry out a review of the literature in order to analyze the responses found by the studies that evaluated and compared the TRPE method. Materials and Methods: Research articles related to RT, being extracted from databases Ebsco, Pubmed, Google Scholar, Scielo and Researchgate. The key words, Resistance Training, Pre-Exhaustion, Order of exercises were used in the Portuguese, Spanish and English languages, where the articles that corresponded precisely to the subject in question were selected. Results: 4831 studies were found, of which 15 met the inclusion criteria. Discussion: Most of the studies did not show relevant findings, however, most of them perceived that the control variables were "ignored", contributing to the result. Conclusion: The TRPE is capable of causing greater fatigue than CRT, due to the results found in the studies. In the EMG analysis only one study identified a significant difference in the activation of the main musculature, however, it is worth mentioning that most of the studies analyzed applied a very short rest interval between the applications of the stimuli, ignoring the fatigue established after the first method, an effective recovery, directly affecting the next sequence of exercises.
